Romans 7:18-25 18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can't. 19 I want to do what is good, but I don't. I don't want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. 20 But if I do what I don't want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. 21 I have discovered this principle of lifeāthat when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. 22 I love God's law with all my heart. 23 But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. 24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? 25 Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God's law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.
Romans 8:7 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will.

Conversion Does Not Make Our Flesh Better.
Romans 6:3-4 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
1 Corinthians 6:14 14 And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead.
Romans 6:5 5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.
Romans 6:6 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
Romans 6:7 7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.
Romans 6:8 8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.
Romans 6:9-10 9 We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. 10 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God.
Romans 6:11 11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.
Romans 6:12 12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.
Romans 6:13 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
Romans 6:14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God's grace.
